What is Employee Value Proposition (EVP)?

Employee value proposition (EVP) the promise that employer make for their employees instead of their effort and commitment to the organization. EVP includes all the rewards and benefits that worker received from their employer (Pawar, 2016). EVP is the collection of gaining that employee received instead of their abilities, skills and experience. EVP is the best option for enhancing organizational brand name within employees (Goswami, 2015). EVP is the best option for organizations to stand alone in the industry. EVP is a human -centered approach of organizations and it should be relevant and unique to organizations (Browne, 2012).

Key Elements of EVP

There are few key elements that includes in EVP including,

§   Compensation: The pay workers receive for their effort and performance.

§     Benefits: Indirect recompense together with health, retirement benefits etc.

§    Work content: The pleasure employees obtain from their work such as work life balance, flexibility in work, good working environment etc.

§   Career development: Providing opportunities for employees for their development and progression such as training and learning opportunities, promotions etc.

§    Affiliation: The feeling of belongingness, self-esteem of employees with their organizations (Browne, 2012).

Significance of EVP

There is several importance of creating effective EVP such as,

§      To enhance employee commitment and motivation.

§      To promote organizational brand name to be unique from competitors of the organization.

§    To attract potential candidates towards organization.

§    To retain talented employees within organization.

§    To enhance shareholder and customer value.

§     To align organizational goals with employees.

To  enhance organizational performance (Pawar, 2016)

Strategies to Improve EVP

Organizations need to constantly improve EVP as it is the point that make the organization unique from competitors. Organizations can provide constant rewards and recognition for employees and need to appreciate their achievements. It is essential to provide flexible work conditions, work-life balance initiatives, provide feedback on employee performance, career development openings, employee well-being programs to improve EVP (Arasanmi & Krishna, 2019)
                                                                          

Conclusion

EVP is one of the crucial aspects of organizational human resource management as it directly impact for attracting and retaining talented workforce. Organizations need to create effective EVP that well-fitted for their employees’ preferences and expectations to satisfy them in order to achieve organizational goals and objectives while ensuring its brand image (Pawar & Charak, 2015).
