IMPACTS TRAINING & DEVELOPMENT IN APPAREL SECTOR


Training and development which explains the educational activities within the company which created to enhance the knowledge and cultivate the skills of the employees. It is a continuous process in organization to achieve its goals by the training and development of employees. This function gained a lot of importance due to advancement in technology, changes in the working environment, and the trend in the market.

TRAINING:-

It is a learning process where the people learn the skills, attitudes, Knowledge and behavior to perform their job effectively in the particular area and it’s fully job related.

DEVELOPMENT:-

It is broader term its aim to improve the overall personality of an individual and prepare for the future.

 

IMPORTANCE OF TRANING AND DEVELOPMENT

ü  Its help to identify the employee weakness and it can be satisfied by the training and development

ü  Improve the performance of the employees.

ü  Providing satisfaction to the workers

ü  Improve the technical knowledge about the production process and reducing the production time.(Gammanpila and Kodisinghe, 2020)

ü  Increased the productivity by reducing the wastages

ü  Supervision cost will be reduced

ü  Improve the quality of the product

ü  Improve the ability of the workforce to implement the organization’s business strategy.

ü  Increase the profitability, morale and corporate image of the company

 

ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES OF TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT

ü  Its help to develop new skills of the employees and increase their knowledge.

ü  Increase the efficiency of the individuals and increase the productivity of the production flow.

ü  Creating new job positions.( Aguinis and Kraiger, 2009)

ü  Increase employee motivation and increase job retention.


DISADVANTAGES

ü  Training cost will be high e.g.:-lean management, six sigma,

ü  Employees quit the job after training


THE NEED OF TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT

ü  Its essential when the company is revised its objectivity and the production flow.

ü  Current world has changed for WFH activities so the employees have to train for new technological tools.

ü  To Increase the relationship between the leaders and subordinates to increase the productivity

ü  To compete with the global market it’s very essential to train and develop the employees to compete with them and catch the market for the products.

ü  Introducing of new machineries to the plant.


CONCLUSION

Training and development are the major facts to improve the knowledge and the self-confidence of the workers in the organization .once its completed the employees will be survive any kind of environment and increase the productivity of the company.

  15. Good article and you have covered all aspects related to the subject. There is one point that I just wanted to highlight with regards to your explanation on disadvantages and it is.
    That the cost will be very high if we are trying to train entire team with out side trainers and also if we trying to give six sigma/ lean training to everyone. It should not be like that and we have to give that training to one or two members and let them train the rest. Then you will get good training and development results with minimum cost.

  16. The most common method of training would be the on the job training and this gives the employee an opportunity to learn while performing the tasks. After providing the employee with the initial training, they are assessed for their performance in the coming days.This assessment is pretty crucial as it determines the scale of the employee’s job performance. Once the assessment is done the employer can identify the gap between the desired goal and the achieved goal and this where the continuous and comprehensive training program, that I mentioned earlier, comes into the picture.
